An international award winning film about an enterprising Saudi girl who joins a koran reciting contest. She wants to raise money to buy the green bicycle she would like to own.

Wadjda was the first feature film recorded entirely in Saudi Arabia and the first film directed by a female Saudi director.

The film won various awards. It was the Saudi submission for Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards and was nominated for Best Foreign Film at the 2014 BAFTA Awards.
