Have you always wanted to know more about the old techniques from the initial time of photography? In this workshop Adriaan Heijboer wil teach you two techniques: Cyanotype and Gum Bichromate.

Under his supervision you will make a Cyanotype. After that, in combination with this blueprint, a Gum Bichromate will be made. Its image is constructed of particles of pigment. The making of the true light prints can be done by daylight. You can of course take the original prints home with you. Since the invention of photography from daguerreotype till the modern digital photography a host of technical developments have taken place. Despite extensive digitalisation the artisan production techniques haven’t lost their charm and are still practised today.

Adriaan Heijboer is an expert in old photographic techniques, particularly the fine arts. He also works for a non-profit organisation that focuses on passing on cultural heritage in the field of photography of the 19th century.
